A recipient of “The Order of King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein for Excellence of the Second Class” for his Academic Contributions in Scientific Research. Prof. Shaher Momani received his B.Sc. in Mathematics from Yarmouk University in 1984, and his Ph.D. from the University of Wales (UK) in 1991.

Prof. Momani started his teaching career at Mutah University in 1991 where he was subsequently promoted through the ranks. He also served as Associate Professor at Yarmouk University (2000-2001), Associate Professor at United Arab Emirates University (2001-2004), Professor at Qatar University (2006-2007) and Professor at The University of Jordan (2009-present).  Also, he is a distinguished Adjunct Professor at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia (2014-present).

Momani is a leading scientific researcher at The University of Jordan, and he has been at the forefront of research in the field of Fractional Calculus in two decades and   is classified as one of the top ten Scientists in the World in this field for the period 2009-present according to Thomson Reuters (Web of Knowledge).

Prof. Momani has authored or co-authored more than 250 peer-reviewed papers in ISI international journals of high quality. He was the thesis supervisor of many Master and Ph.D. students at The University of Jordan and Mutah University. Also, He was the thesis supervisor of two M.Sc. students in Iraq and four Ph.D. students in Malaysia.

In addition to “The Order of King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein for Excellence of the Second Class”, Momani received many honors and awards including:  Ali Mango Distinguished Researcher Prize in Jordan (2016), the Distinguished Researcher Prize in Jordan (2012),  the Distinguished Researcher Prize at The University of Jordan (2012), the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Science Prize "ISESCO Science Prize" (2008), the Scopus Prize for Jordan Scientists (2009), the Distinguished Researcher Prize at Mutah University (2009), TWAS Prize for the Young Scientists, Third World Academic Sciences (2000).

Momani has been selected by Thomson Reuters in its prestigious list of Highly Cited Researchers in 2014, 2015 and 2016.  He is the only scientist in the Arab World who has been chosen for this prestigious honor for the third consecutive year. Also, he has been selected by Thomson Reuters in its prestigious list of The World's Most Influential Scientific Minds in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Momani obtained the highest Hirsch Index (h-index) and number of citations in Jordan according to Scopus data base and Google Scholar.
