Prof Elhadi was born in Sudan (1939). Married with four children. Degrees earns: B.V.SC (Vet) 1964 (Khartoum), PH. D. 1969 (London).
Commenced his career in the Dept of Physiology & Biochemistry, Faculty of Vet Medicine, University of Khartoum (UofK), Teaching Assistant: 1964-69, Assistant prof.: 1969-77. Associate Prof: 1977-91, Full Prof: 1991-present. Vice-Dean: Vet, College King Faisal University(KFU), Saudi Arabia. After returning to the Sudan (1987), he became Dean of Student (U of K) 1990-92. Dean 0f Vet Med. 1992-1994, then Vice-Chancellor U of K (1994-98). Then he took the Vice-Chancellorship of private University: The Sudan International University: (1998-2003).
Prof Elhadi became the president of the Sudan Vet. Association (1997-date), member of Sudan Vet Council (1997-date), Chairman editorial Board Sudan J. Vet Med. (1997-date), member of World Poultry Association (1980-date), Euro-Arab Vet Assoc.(1997-date), Member World Vet Assoc. Council, representing Africa, (2002-date) Chairman: Steering committee of IGAD Dryland Husbandry Project (1997-2004). Member of Sudan Universities Assoc.(1995-1997), Assoc. Arab Universities (1995-97), Board Member, International Assoc. of universities (1995-2000) Honorary Member, Sudan National Medical Specialization Board (1994 –date). Member of Council & Executive Board of The Sudan Academy of Science, SAS, (2004 – date). Member of administrative & Trustee Boards of a number of Public & private Universities & colleges. Member of the advisory Council to: Minister of Animal Resources & Fisheries, Minister of Science & Technology, The National Strategic Planning Secretariat & Youth Training.
Prof Elhadi Published numerous scientific papers in his field of animal physiology & production in reputable vet journals, beside general papers on vet education, capacity building & Natural Resources. Supervised & examined a number of postgraduates (Msc & Ph. D). He refereed the promotion of internal & external candidates for the status of associate & full professorship & some scientific books. Participated in various committees at U of K & KFU. He Visited many countries for academic & scientific meetings. Prof Elhadi was elected as a Fellow of the IAS in 1994.
